How to Install your Career Site Chatbot

Add your Career Chat to your website to increase candidate conversions.

It's time to install your Career Chat on your career site!

Below are the instructions for adding the chatbot to your career site.

Before you get started:

You'll need access to your career site platform. This might be someone in marketing or IT that can help, if you don't have access yourself.

Installation Instructions:

  1. Installing the javascript:
    Either via the GoHire Career Chatbot Settings page, or email, you'll have access to the necessary javascript to add to your site.
    It will look something like the below, where the API_Key is unique to your bot

  2. In your website, the javascript above can be added to the HTML header tags across your website, or on specific pages. You don't really need to know much about javascript, because it will be a cut n' paste exercise, but if you do, that's even better.

  3. Once you added the javascript to your website. Refresh the page, and validate that the GoHire Chat widget is showing.

  4. The look and feel of your chatbot is controlled by a stylesheet that is maintained by the GoHire team. If you want to make changes to the styling please let us know what changes you would like.

  5. In the Career Chat Bots Settings page (see image below), you can set the Desktop and Mobile sizing options.

  6. Additional Support: While the GoHire team can't log in to your platform and make the changes, we might be able to support other questions. If you need additional assistance with installing the career chat, please contact your GoHire representative or contact GoHire Tech Support @ (techsupport@gohire.com)

Chatbot Settings Page:

The javascript code can also be found in your Chatbot Settings tab (see the image):

  1. When logged in, In the Upper Right-hand corner, click the “down arrow”.

  2. Choose Settings.

  3. Click on the Bot Settings tab.

  4. Choose CareerChat Bots.

  5. Choose your specific career site chatbot.

  6. Copy the javascript code, to be placed in your career site pages, or header file.

Installing Career Chat

Options- Not required:

By default, many clients want to set the Desktop and Mobile view options to “minified” so the chatbot will show in a “smaller size” when a user first visits the career site.

These can be modified directly from the Chatbot settings, in the GoHire Admin's career chat settings page.

If you want to have the chatbot in a more visible / Open state, you can make the change from your account, and future site visitors will see the chatbot in the selected state.
